The new building of an underground car park for residents allowed to reconsider and to redesign the whole courtyard area.
An essential element of the planning process was the participation of residents and owners, thus made it possible to realise a comprehensive design and implementation of the courtyard.
Instead of walls and fences, separating the single buildings as well as the open space, a new green centre was established for the whole neighbourhood.
Diagonal lanes intersect the central area, connecting the entrances of the buildings and the underground car park. Crude steel bands separate the lawn areas from the paved lanes. Bollard path lights are emphasising the crossings of the pathways. A large-sized area of the courtyard is covered with light red epdm, creating a perfect playground for a wide range of activities
